I grew up in the country. Spent my summers underfoot of my aunts growing flowers and vegetables. Though now looking back I think there was some embellishment on how much “real helping” I contributed lol.
The signs were there that my inherited green thumb (my great-grand parents were farmers) wasn’t so green. I remember a period of time being fascinated with cactus and succulent plants. Guess who left them outside and guess who was sad when her cactus died 🙋🏽♀️
Owning my first apartment I was hesitant to buy anything that required my attention for life. It was hard enough being 22 keeping myself fed and cared for. I discovered authentic loose leaf green tea which slammed me into learning Asia culture. One Christmas I requested a bonsai tree by Easter it was no longer with me. 😰
10 years later times are changing and I’ve kept my Costco aloe plant alive for almost 2 years now. Woot! My mom got me a spider plant this summer and than my neighbor gave me a plant (species unknown) you know one of those kinds that grows downward lots of leaves and stems. (Insert pic)
Yesterday at the local organic coop- I saw a baby aloe plant for $5. I’m challenging myself to repot the baby with it’s now adopted aloe family and see if they can thrive today. Stay tuned for more updates.
