The time of the year where Virgo the virgin, also represented through Demeter in greek mythology is here to support dissolving the summer fun of Leo with a dose of seriousness before Fall arrives.

From a tarot perspective I am a Rider Waite Smith (RWS) devotee. Its my main thang… I am proudly not a collector of decks as it will overwhelm my Mars in Libra. To clarify I know people with hundreds of decks – that is my definition of a collection lol. I do own a few of non RWS decks; Herbal Tarot, Herbcrafters Tarot, Kawaii Tarot, Business Class Tarot(Thanks Anthony for presenting at Capitol Tarot Society aka CTS). I struggle when outside the RWS its like other decks are cute have special meaning and themes but its like a foreign language to my brain. I was groomed and learned on the RWS and I struggles to read any other deck. Personally for now, I only give readings to friends and those in my two social groups; CTS and DC Tarot meetup. Before I could even consider reading professional or doing more readings in general I must master learning how to ground and not feel drained.

I’m more inclined to own various Oracle Decks (I’ll provide my list later) but the inner minimalist does not want to go overboard acquiring decks just because. I’m very purposeful and do not like a lot of cutter in my place which makes me happy that if I want to dabble in other decks and cartomancy I can do such digitally.

Coming full circle its very challenging for me still being newish to tarot using non-RWS decks and spiritually I feel called to keep RWS as the default. However it can be fun every now and than to try new decks and feel into it.

On behalf of the Virgo spirt of cleanliness accessing details and purification I found in the App Store a Tarot Deck called The Linestrider Tarot by Siolo Thompson— the simple line drawings against the white background caught my attention.

A person guided by the crescent moon; over prepared wearing a parka, large backpack – there is hesitancy in this journey as the trail of papers being left To mark the way back but why return? Leaving comfort is hard but as we live and watch the 4 seasons round and around there’s no inertia to stop what we can’t control and in essence that’s life. Careful attention has been place to secure the belongings in the bag while traveling but it will soon be abandoned. We can’t run from our problems; still holding on to our problems (see Baglady Erykah Badu). Lastly the icy blueness is this card calls for us to go deep think deep! The crescent moon (could be waxing or waning) either way indicates a fullness yet to be achieved. Get clear confidant shed excess and go!
